Synopsis

Young Da (2022) is a charming four-part web series that takes us through the comedic trials and tribulations of young Jimmy's life. Just when Jimmy thinks he's got things figured out – whether it's shining on the football field, bringing home his girlfriend, celebrating Christmas with grandpa, or preparing to embark on his university journey – his well-meaning yet hilariously bumbling single dad always manages to steal the spotlight, often turning simple moments into absolute disasters.

Starring the critically acclaimed Scottish comedian, Gary Meikle, alongside actor-comedian Gregor MacKay of 'Weegie Hink Ae That?' fame, 'Young Da', also known as 'Jimmy & Da', is a testament to heartfelt humor.Written by Gregor MacKay with Alessio Avezzano, who also sits in the director's chair, this series emerges as a standout from BBC's Short Stuff sketch programme. Premiering online and gracing both BBC Scotland and BBC iPlayer, the show is a collaborative production between Mythic Picnic and BBC Studios, under the astute guidance of Executive Producer Mark Bignell.
